Early 2005s are still B6 bodies, 2005.5 is a B7. Thats the biggest difference.

That’s a tough one to resist, and that 4.2 is bombproof. The chain tensioner and guide issues were fixed for the B7s, so that isn’t a worry like on the B6s. I have a 3.2, this engine’s little brother, and it just keeps going like its new, and hasn’t had any problems yet. Use 91 or 93 gas and use good oil changed regularly, and even the carbon buildup won’t be a problem really.

The 3.2 has a great sound to it, I’d like to have one of those also. The 4.2 is a good engine though, thanks for the advice.
